As you may know, I teach Anatomy and Figure drawing at an art college. This past week marked the end of another semester.
To celebrate I drew along side my students and my good friend and model Mairin-taj Caya (who I make the podcast Life Studied with). It’s a fun, low-stress way to still have them practice without the pressure of me walking up to make corrections.
Here are a batch of 30 second, 1, 2 and 5 minute figure gesture drawing.
These aren’t meant to be perfect, but rather a way to train the eye and hand to work together. And, honestly, I think they can be quite beautiful.
If you have the chance, give it a shot. No pressure, just letting your eye and hand sync up to make marks based on observations.
Happy drawing.
Speaking of figure drawing, over on my Patreon in addition to daily posts I share process videos with my Patrons.
I thought I’d share one here, with all of you.
I’d love if you considered becoming a Patreon Patron, but I also know many of you don’t want to go to multiple places for my work.
So I’m considering offering some content like this for those of you considering a pay subscribers.
Good idea? Let me know what you think in the comments.
Thanks!
I’ll be a guest of the Philly Fanexpo this weekend. If you’re in the area, come by and say hi! I’ll be doing panels, signing books and doing remarques, commissions and sketches.
Thanks!
Mike
